Dan Garrett – Track Manager
With 26 years of experience in railroading, Dan has built a career grounded in track maintenance, inspections, and operational leadership. He joined Columbia Rail in 2019 as Roadmaster, where he oversees track management, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while prioritizing safety. His responsibilities include managing personnel, equipment, and tools, conducting job briefings, and coordinating daily and long-term maintenance projects.
Dan’s professional journey began in 1998 as a track laborer with Camas Prairie Railroad. He advanced through roles including Track Foreman, Track Inspector, and Roadmaster with Camas Prairie and Watco, gaining expertise in track, locomotive, car repair, and operations. His commitment to safety, team development, and effective communication has been key to maintaining high infrastructure standards and supporting the company’s continued growth.

Oscar Palomino – Track Inspector & Foreman
Oscar plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and reliability of the company’s rail infrastructure. Leading the Port of Benton crew based out of Richland, WA, he ensures that all company-owned and third-party tracks are properly inspected and maintained to the highest safety standards. His dedication to identifying and addressing track defects helps provide safe and efficient operations for both company and partner railroads.
